PPS: I interned here years back, have successfully (and unsuccessfully) referred several candidates and interview early career/mid-senior candidates a lot. I don't find them competent enough to do that either. Recruiters at PayPal have no role in deciding the eligibility of any candidate. Then, HM asks the recruiter to reach out to the candidate. Interns/new grad applications go to a common pool and HMs across the company pick from that stack. They have no role in selecting the profiles. PS: Reaching out to "University hiring" team recruiters on LinkedIn will not work either. ![]() The only time my referral worked for an intern role was when I directly moved candidate's resume to the hiring manager in my team (and not referral on role point). This is not the same case for new grads and interns. The referral system works for experienced roles and those positions are tied to hiring managers.
